Thank you for never letting me quit when things get hard, and for teaching me that anything is possible if I set my mind to it. Thank you for being tough on me, because although I didn’t realize it when I was younger, you only lecture me because you care. You have played such a tremendous role in shaping me into the person I am today, and you get the least amount of credit for it.
I want to thank you for always being my biggest supporter, and for never letting me go without a father figure in my life. Thank you for teaching me to be strong both mentally and physically, and for instilling a sense of confidence within me. Thank you for giving up years of work to take care of me until I was old enough to take care of myself, and for making sure I’ve always had everything I ever needed. Thank you for all the little things you’ve done for me, like tucking me into bed every night and teaching me how to ride a bike, and most importantly to always get right back up after I fall. Thank you for teaching me how to sail a boat, and showing me the most beautiful parts of the world, like Ministers Face.
By being a loving husband to mom and a loving father to Lucinda and I, you have shown me what love is. You have taught me how I deserve to be treated since I was a little girl and I know not to settle for anything less. Because of you, I know what to look for in a man and how he should treat his family, and I hope one day that I’ll find someone who will be as great a father to my children as you have been for us. You gave up your dreams so that I had the opportunity to go after mine and you’ve never stopped believing in me, even when I stopped believing in myself. Thank you for teaching me that I can be anything I want to be and that nobody will ever stand in my way. Thanks for being a shoulder to cry on and for understanding everything I’ve ever told you.
I love you more than I’d ever be able to express in a blog post. You are the most driven, selfless, and humble person I have ever met, and I am so grateful to be able to call you my dad. Thank you for passing on your wisdom and teaching me more about life than I could ever learn from a textbook. Although the Uppy Uppy stages are over, I’ll always be your little girl and I love you with my whole heart.
Happy Father’s Day!
